About

Dr. Lamin Jaiteh, an attending general surgeon and surgical oncology fellow at Edward Frances Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH), is a leader in improving surgical and emergency care in The Gambia. He has been instrumental in integrating Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) into emergency settings, training over 150 medical personnel through a collaborative program with the University of California, Davis faculty.

As a senior lecturer and mentor, Dr. Jaiteh is also dedicated to strengthening medical education and expanding oncology services. His upcoming talk at the University of California, Davis, will explore his efforts to build sustainable emergency and surgical capacity in low- resource settings, highlighting the impact of innovation and collaboration in transforming the healthcare system.
